Therefore, it is very difficult for Vietnamese litchi to compete with them in terms of fresh lychee.

In my opinion, there is only one way that I can compete with them in terms of processed litchi. Almost no processed litchi here. Because here, the amount of fresh lychee they produce is just enough to try it out, but they don’t have much to process. Why do I have many, I do not process from Vietnam. Then slowly shipping to by water, cheaper. They don’t have many here, so I can compete with them.”

Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung, Chief Representative of Vietnam Trade Promotion Office in New York, USA: “Vietnamese fruits, such as lychee, most of them have the advantage of being fragrant and delicious, achieving two characteristics: smell and taste. This is the comment of many American customers. However, Vietnam The South is located in a tropical monsoon geographical region, hot and humid, with a lot of sunshine, so cultivation and post-harvest storage still face many difficulties.

In order to improve the competitiveness of Vietnamese fruit in the US market, it is necessary to note a number of points. First, quality must come first. Secondly, it is necessary to strictly ensure the standards of the growing area code, origin, food hygiene and safety regulations, and import. To be able to update the latest information, to avoid unnecessary problems, you can exchange information through partner enterprises or through Vietnamese representative agencies in the US. Third, it is necessary to promote trade promotion activities and promote Vietnamese fruit brands to American customers, especially customers of European origin, who do not know much about tropical fruits.
