According to The Elec, OLED panels that Apple and LG are developing are designed for a variety of their products such as phones, tablets, and laptops. This panel has ultra-thin glass instead of plastic film. In addition, LG will also provide a 17-inch 4K resolution OLED panel that can be folded into an 11-inch screen to HP this year.

Analyst Ming-chi Kuo said that Apple is actively testing a device with a 9-inch OLED screen that folds in half, which is a combination of iPhone and iPad. The company is currently focusing on devices with mid-sized screens, then on folding devices with large screens before expanding to small devices like the ‌iPhone‌. It is expected that until 2025, users will be able to see the folding iPhone.

Previously, analyst Ross Young also shared information that Apple is developing a laptop with a 20-inch folding screen. Folding models are expected to open up a new product category for Apple, supporting multiple uses such as a laptop with a virtual keyboard when folded or a large screen when unfolded.

With Samsung, Motorola, Huawei and Honor having launched folding screen smartphones and Vivo, Xiaomi, and Oppo also starting to join the race, Apple is said to be behind the competition when it takes at least three years to complete. Launched the first product.
