Over the past few days, at bridges 3, 4, 5 (Tan Binh district) and the canal side of Truong Sa road (Phu Nhuan district) there has been a situation of dead fish floating around, surrounded by solid waste. This situation has caused the canal area to stink, and the black canal water has affected the environment and the beauty of the area.

In the area of bridge 2, there is a situation of floating garbage
Many people believe that fish deaths are caused by unseasonal rains, plus polluted water. The sudden change of the water environment made the fish not able to adapt and died white.
Before that, the authorities also regularly organized dredging to clean the canal. However, after each heavy rain, garbage flows into this area, polluting this area.

Dead fish in the river
Nhieu Loc Channel – Thi Nghe has a length of nearly 10 km, flows through District 1, District 3, Phu Nhuan District, Binh Thanh District and Tan Binh District, towards the Saigon River. Previously, the canal was heavily polluted and was renovated by the city government and built two roads along the canal.
In 2016, more than 70 tons of dead fish were picked up in this section of the canal. Faced with this situation, cAuthorities used to spray 25 tons of zeolite probiotics on dead fish areas to clear the water, settle the residues, and absorb and decompose pollutants to improve the canal’s water environment.
