Fansipan peak dropped below 0 degrees Celsius, covered with white frost
On the morning of April 2, Mr. Luu Minh Hai – Director of Lao Cai Hydro-meteorological Station said that from last night frost began to appear on the top of Fansipan, Sapa, Lao Cai. By this afternoon, the amount of ice was even denser.
The recorded temperature this morning was -1 degrees Celsius. At 9am, the ice continued to cover the branches and flowers creating an interesting natural phenomenon, which are crystal-clear ice flowers. The dome of the station to the Fansipan cable car is also covered with white ice.
Frost appeared on the top of Fansipan this morning (2/4).
According to Mr. Hai, the lowest temperature measured in Sa Pa town this morning was 6.5 degrees. According to hydrometeorological calculations, on the top of Fansipan, the temperature drops below 0 degrees Celsius.
Due to low temperature combined with light rain and drizzle, frost is formed.
Also according to information from the hydro-meteorological center of Lao Cai, due to the influence of the northeast monsoon, in two days 1 and 2 of April, the temperature in Sapa dropped sharply, down to 7-8 degrees Celsius, it turned cold, the mountains like Fansipan peak where it is very cold, frost can occur.
