NASA tests before sending people back to the Moon

This is part of the Artemis series of missions – a symbol of America’s new space ambition – to return humans to the Moon after many decades.

This is also the last major test before NASA launches the unmanned Artemis-1 mission this summer.

Now, NASA has set a goal of May to be the earliest date to launch the unmanned Artemis-1 mission, with the first combination of SLS and Orion spacecraft.

After Artemis-1 was the manned Artemis-2 mission, which flew around the Moon but did not land.

The Artemis-3 mission, scheduled for 2025, will bring the first female astronaut and the first black astronaut to land on the Moon’s South Pole.
