Stop sharing pictures and clips of male 10th graders jumping off the stairs by themselves

“Whether intentionally or unintentionally, everyone, please stop sharing pictures and clips of that heartbreaking story. You have to give up this life and go so painfully, let them rest in peace’…

Sitting with my child to study, I took advantage of surfing the Internet, filled with FB information about the 10th grade boy jumping from the 28th floor to commit suicide with a letter, a clip or many pictures cut from that clip. The moods: tears, pity, anger and even bitterness… all from those status lines.

I keep quiet. Because I am also a parent, I also have a child who specializes in studying and was also in the “bad man, bad boy” stage like the other boy.

I believe, any parent always loves their child unconditionally, I also believe most parents want their children to grow up.

But the death that ended the life of the 16-year-old boy happened. Things happened beyond imagination, beyond the expectations of adults. If you ever thought that this situation would happen, surely the parents have… thought of the best solution to help their children overcome.

Torment and torment will follow my parents for the rest of my life.

Many years ago, I wrote about the case of a girl who was raped. I try to reach out to the victim, find her at home, take pictures of the house where she lives in order to provide readers with the most truthful information.

But then those documents forever slumber in a corner of the office after saying “don’t kill another baby, my family again” from an independent expert specializing in the protection of women and children.

Back to the story of a male student from a school specializing in jumping from the 28th floor to the ground with a series of pictures and clips shared a lot on social networks, I suddenly felt sorry. Love the baby, love the rest of the survivors.

“Who thought those resources would never be lost. How will the people who stay behind deal with that wound?” a colleague of mine said painfully.

She said that many years ago she also received a plea from a mother of a depressed child. She wants her sister with her profession, if there is any news in the press about the passing of her son, help her take it down. That mother, wants to block a pain. Life still has to go on.

She wondered, “Today, many and many images on social networks spread a letter, a clip or an image extracted from that clip. Post it, let someone (even the Minister of Education) see, to change the way of education, should it not. Maybe, tearing the pain of a family, not giving it to young skin, will education change? I don’t think it’s that simple.”

Changing attitudes about education, about certificates of merit, is still a long way off. Just like the story of sharing camera clip information, from today’s letter, it shows another long way to keep privacy.

Dr. Khuat Thu Hong, director of the Institute for Social Development Studies (ISDS), urgently “please don’t upload your clips or letters anymore”.

According to experts, whether accidentally or intentionally, people stop sharing pictures and clips about that heartbreaking story. You had to give up this life in such a painful way, let them rest in peace. If not, it will be a resource that will last forever on the internet. The pain of the baby’s family and loved ones will be very difficult to heal.

Specialist II Tran Minh Khuyen, a neuropsychologist at the Hospital Clinic (Hospital) of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy 1 in Ho Chi Minh City, said that social distancing is prolonged because of the Covid-19 epidemic, a pathology of anxiety disorders. Depression is very high. In students, there are many reasons why children are stressed such as: studying online a lot, staying at home for a long time, changing daily habits, life being turned upside down, not having social contact…

According to Dr. Tran Minh Khuyen, when learning online, children are confined in a tight environment, do not have the opportunity to interact with friends, along with the pressure of homework and tests, which makes them restless all the time. , can’t sleep, panic, wakes up while sleeping, always worries about homework, even skips eating to do homework.

When children have acute stress, exercises and tests must be performed, the body will move to increase heart rate, increase blood pressure, increase dopamine… to help children pay more attention and work more effectively to problem solving.

But when acute stress occurs continuously, the body does not return to normal, the mind is not balanced, leading to chronic stress causing anxiety disorders and depression. In fact, stress is a psychological disease, but when the body has a problem and is not resolved, it will turn into a real disease.

Dr. Khuyen emphasized, when suffering from anxiety disorder, the patient may have insomnia, headache, neck pain, heart palpitations, fatigue, insecurity… accompanied by depression, it can cause the patient to fall into a state of depression. Sadness, fatigue, loss of energy.

Depending on the specific level of impact on the patient, if severe, the child may hurt himself, punch his hand against the wall, peel his skin, cut his hand… or have suicidal thoughts.
