Warning of new Omicron symptoms, everyone should know to prevent the risk of re-infection

You probably already know a series of symptoms of Omicron variant infection, such as sneezing, nausea, muscle pain, loss of appetite, skipping meals, coughing…

But recently, ‘ZOE Symptom Research App’ by British scientists published an updated list of the 20 most common COVID-19 symptoms reported each week.

Recently, a new symptom has been included in this list, as more and more people are reporting its occurrence. This new symptom is tinnitus.

Earlier this year, Dr. Konstantina Stankovic, chair of the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at Stanford University, USA, said ear pain is becoming a common sign of COVID-19 infection.

An increasing number of people with COVID-19 in the UK are showing symptoms of tinnitus.

Dr. Konstantina’s research team found that people with COVID-19 can develop symptoms in the inner ear.

To test this hypothesis, the team created a model of the inner ear and exposed it to a COVID-19 test.

Stankovic says that an infection can appear in the ear. This infection is likely to come from the nose.

“If you find yourself experiencing hearing loss or dizziness or ringing in your ears, don’t ignore these symptoms,” she added.

“Go get tested. In some of our patients, we’ve found that hearing loss is the only sign of COVID-19 infection.”

Below is a complete list of the 20 most common symptoms of Omicron infection, according to data from the UK ZOE Symptom Research App.

UK cases of COVID-19 are on the rise, but the Omicron variant appears to cause less serious illness.

British officials say this allows the upcoming COVID-19 to be treated like any other respiratory illness.

The increase in cases is largely due to the subline of Omicron (BA.2), which has better immune evasion and faster spread. But importantly, it did not cause a significant increase in hospitalizations.

For the most part, people will recover after a few days at home. Some people will even have no symptoms.
