Forcing a debtor to give birth to a son for me

Mr. Zhang, 69 years old, has just been indicted on charges of Killing in a murder that happened in 1993.

According to the affidavit, Mr. Zhang admitted that he was obsessed with having a son, and was jealous of his neighbors because they had two sons while he had four daughters.

He used extreme measures, raising only his eldest daughter and giving the other three children up for adoption. According to local people, “giving away” a daughter will help his wife give birth to a son.

Zhang denied forcing the neighbor, but said she herself offered to sleep with him. “She promised to give me a son on the condition that I forgive her and her husband a debt of 2,700 yuan,” Zhang said. But there is nothing to corroborate this statement.

Mr. Zhang’s wife divorced in 1992, leaving the village with their eldest daughter, after learning about the arrangement. After that, Mr. Zhang spent more than a year living with a neighbor 12 years younger. One day, she ran away without getting pregnant.

After losing the woman and money, Zhang became angry and attacked her neighbor’s wife with a knife while they were working in a nearby field. Her mother-in-law tried to stop her and was also fatally stabbed by Zhang.
