Emira, a new sports car that replaces Elise, Exige, Evora and is also the last Lotus model to use an internal combustion engine. According to Lotus’s plan, the company aims to produce a new series of sports cars with hybrid and electric powertrains in the future.

The new Emira sports car is designed in a two-door coupe style, with a mid-engine, rear-wheel drive developed on a new aluminum platform. The size of the Emira is similar to the Evora, with a length of 4,415 mm, a slight increase of 20 mm, a width of 1,895 mm, a height of 1,224 mm and a wheelbase of 2,575 mm.

Lotus offers Emira two engine options. V6 versions use Toyota 2GR-FE 3.5 V6 turbocharged engine, capacity of 400 horsepower, maximum torque of 420 Nm with 6MT gearbox and 430 Nm with 6AT gearbox. Acceleration time from 0-96 km / h in 4.3 seconds with the manual transmission and 4.2 seconds with the automatic transmission, both have a maximum speed of 288 km / h.

The 4-cylinder engine version is taken from the Mercedes-AMG M139, 2.0 turbocharged engine, combined with an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission, producing 360 horsepower, maximum torque of 429 Nm. Acceleration time from 0-96 km / h in 4.2 seconds, maximum speed 284 km / h.

Initially, Lotus marketed Emira V6 First Edition for $ 355,000, limited to 6 units. Particularly, the i4 First Editon engine versions cost $ 277,000, put into production from the fourth quarter of 2022 and delivered from the second quarter of 2023. The standard Emira Base Edition costs $ 240,000.

Lotus plans to produce the Emira with 5,000 vehicles per year, manufactured in the UK with an investment capital of $131 million.
