Massacre shooting in the US, 16 people were injured

Police in California, USA are searching for at least one suspect in the mass shooting that happened in downtown Sacramento, which left 6 people dead and 10 injured.

Sacramento Police Chief Kathy Lester said police were patrolling the area when they heard gunshots at about 2 a.m. (local time) on April 3. When they arrived at the scene between 10th and Jth streets, they discovered crowds of people gathered in the street. There have been 6 deaths. Another 10 injured people were taken to hospital for treatment. There is currently no information on their status.

Authorities have not identified one or more suspects involved and are asking the public to help identify those responsible. Ms. Lester did not specify the type of gun the perpetrator used to shoot.

The Sacramento police chief described “an extremely complex situation” and urged witnesses or anyone with audio or video recordings of the incident to contact authorities, the Sacramento police chief said.

Immediately after the shooting, a video posted on Twitter showed people rushing out into the street amid rapid gunfire. Several ambulances appeared at the scene later.

Residents have been told to avoid the scene area, which is a crowded place with restaurants and bars. The police also blocked off many neighboring streets.

Kay Harris, 32, said she was sleeping when a family member called to say her brother may have been shot. This woman believed her brother was at the London nightclub on 10th Street. She had spent the morning waiting to hear from him.
