In case you want to remind multiple people or all group members, you must use the “@” character more than once. So if there are dozens or even hundreds of members in the chat group, how do you mention everyone quickly?

Users can use the keyword phrase “@everyone” or “@silent” to send special messages in the chat group (Screenshot).

Now, with the new feature, users only need to use the keyword phrase “@everyone” to refer to everyone present in the chat group. This will allow sending messages with important content and remind everyone in the chat group to know.

On the contrary, in case you want to send messages that are not too important and do not want to disturb people in the chat group, for example, you want to send the next day’s agenda or work schedule, but it is too late now and For fear of disturbing people, Meta has also added a feature to send silent messages to Messenger.

To use this feature, users use the keyword phrase “@silent” before the content of the message to send. Messages with this keyword phrase will show up in the messaging dialog, but will not appear on the recipient’s smartphone. Only when people in the chat group open the Messenger app, they see a new message and open it to read.

Currently, these two new messaging features have been equipped for users globally, but only for the Messenger application on smartphones and cannot be used with the desktop version of Messenger. To use these 2 features, you need to upgrade the Messenger app on your smartphone to the latest version.
