Prime Minister asked to firmly ensure national energy security

On the morning of April 3, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chaired a meeting of the Government’s Standing Committee with a number of related ministries, branches and localities on the situation of ensuring electricity and energy supply in 2022 and the following years.

At the meeting, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh stated, energy demand, electricity demand increased after we carry out the task of socio-economic recovery and development, as well as the task of striving for a growth rate of 6 – 6.5% this year according to the Resolution assigned by the National Assembly.

In the context of the difficult world energy situation, right from the end of last year, the Prime Minister issued Official Letter No. 1813 asking relevant agencies and units to firmly ensure national energy securityassess and forecast electricity demand, ensure electricity supply for production, business and people’s life in 2022 and the following years.

Today’s meeting aims to evaluate the results of the implementation of the tasks stated in the dispatch after more than 3 months, frankly admit the limitations, weaknesses, obstacles, problems posed to overcome difficulties, any access.

The Prime Minister requested relevant agencies to take a proactive, drastic, responsible and coordinated action more closely, at the same time to firmly grasp, assess and forecast the situation in the world and the region. .

The Prime Minister emphasized that energy is one of the five major balances that must be ensured to contribute to rapid recovery and sustainable socio-economic development, building an independent and self-reliant economy. This is a very important job, showing responsibility to the Party, State and people.
