Recently, a new symptom has been added to the list, as more and more people share they have experienced it. Some patients in the UK say they have tinnitus after being infected with Covid-19.

Earlier this year, Dr. Konstantina Stankovic, Chair of the Department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at Stanford University, USA, informed that ear pain is becoming a common sign of Covid-19.

Stankovic’s team shared that people infected with Covid-19 can develop symptoms in the inner ear.

The expert said that the infection in the ear is likely to come from the nose. “You should be careful if you have hearing loss, dizziness, tinnitus. In some patients, we found hearing loss to be the only sign of Covid-19 infection,” said Dr. Stankovic.

With a population of 67 million people, the UK has had up to 21 million cases of Covid-19 with many cases of reinfection.

While the number of cases is high, the community’s immunity against Covid-19 has also reached an all-time high and the Omicron variant is considered less severe.

That fact allows Covid-19 patients to be treated like any other respiratory illness, authorities said.

The sharp increase in the number of Covid-19 cases was largely due to BA.2, a sub-variant of Omicron, which is capable of spreading faster.

But the good news is that BA.2 did not cause a significant increase in the number of seriously ill patients requiring hospitalization. Most people will recover after a few days at home feeling unwell. Some even have no symptoms.

Rate the prevalence of Omicron symptoms today: Runny nose: 80%, fatigue: 70%, sore throat: 69%, headache: 69%, sneezing: 68%, persistent cough: 54% , hoarse voice: 47%, chills: 36%, bone and joint pain: 33%, fever: 32%, dizziness: 30%, brain fog: 28%, eye pain: 25%, altered sense of smell: 24 %, abnormal muscle pain: 23%, low back pain: 23%, swollen lymph nodes: 21%, skipping meals: 18%, tinnitus: 17%.
