My husband is worried because my situation is different from the rest of the artists. My son was only 7 years old at that time, and the doctors said I couldn’t have children anymore. It was my only child, had to beg everywhere to get it.

I don’t want to leave my baby for a second. Yet I chose to go on a tour not knowing what it would be like.

Actually, before going on tour, we were prepared to be kidnapped and stay, because there were some pretty aggressive elements there.

After rehearsing the drama, People’s Artist Le Thuy also told me: “The city has to trust us a lot to give it away, sister. If something happens, we must return home no matter how we live or die.

Ms. Ngoc Giau is very smart, she knows how to return anyway, and Ms. Bach Tuyet is good at talking, talking for a while and then being released. Personally, I don’t know what to say, so I hope they don’t make me stay.”

We talked, laughed, joked with each other, not expecting the kidnapping to happen.

At that time, Germany was divided into East Germany and West Germany. We were performing in West Germany in a wonderfully beautiful condition, like a honeymoon.

People in Germany love our artists very much, the situation there is also very safe. We were very comfortable acting.

That night, we went from the hotel to the theater. While moving from the hotel to the bus, we had to cross a courtyard.

I later learned that the audience over there because they were so passionate about cai luong but no one could sing to them, so they kidnapped the cai luong artists to sing for them. Vietnamese people everywhere are passionate about national art.
