The Ministry of Health has coordinated with the Ministry of Information and Communications and related units to build functions on the Covid-19 Immunization Management platform and related systems for digital signing and issuance of vaccine passports. . Up to now, the systems are ready for the deployment of vaccine passports for people.

Colonel Phung Duc Thang, Deputy Director of the Police Department for Administrative Management of Social Order, Ministry of Public Security (C06) said,As of March 30, the Covid-19 Immunization Management platform has sent about 154 million injections, and about 41 million shots have not been sent (old shots, lacking basic information cannot be sent).

Out of the 154 million injections sent, the correct information was verified 112,569,288 injectionsim, remaining 41,431,113 injections of incorrect information. Regarding the solution of data cleaning and additional import of old subjects, vaccination facilities are responsible for reviewing and coordinating with local police to supplement, verify and authenticate information and enter data. onto the system.

According to Mr. Do Truong Duy, Director of the Information Technology Department, Ministry of Health, the preparation work for the issuance of vaccine passports has basically been completed. People who have been vaccinated, correctly declared information and have been entered into the vaccination system by vaccination facilities, and correctly verified information with the National Database on Population will be issued a vaccine passport. without having to perform any further procedures.

Vaccine passports will be displayed on the Electronic Health Book application, PC-Covid or looked up on the Portal of the Ministry of Health. For people who have not been granted, the reason is due to lack of/wrong information, so they need to contact the vaccination facility to be supplemented and updated.

Deputy Minister of Health Tran Van Thuan requested Immunization facilities across the country seriously review, supplement and authenticate Covid-19 vaccination information, enter complete and accurate vaccination data into the vaccine passport service system. .

The Agencies and units strengthen communication work to guide people to check and review Covid-19 vaccination information. If there are errors, there is no data on the system that needs to be reflected on the Covid-19 Immunization Portal (at address https://tiemchungcovid19.gov.vn) or directly contact the vaccination facility for additions or corrections.

Depending on the actual situation of each locality, the People’s Committees of the provinces and centrally run cities shall assign a focal unit of the province (may assign the Department of Health or the Center for Disease Control of the province) or assign other agencies to control the disease. The vaccination department shall digitally sign the vaccination certificate.

The Ministry of Health assigned vaccination facilities across the country to prepare necessary conditions, deploying digital signatures of Covid-19 vaccination certificates starting from April 8. for the Ministry of Health to issue vaccine passports to people expected starting on 4/15.

The “vaccine passport” includes information about the first and last name and date of birth combined with other identification documents such as ID card, CCCD or passport to help identify the owner. Date of injection and number of shots received to identify vaccination information.

The information will be digitally signed, encrypted and packaged as a 2D QR code. QR codes expire 12 months from the date of creation.

The information about the disease to which the certificate is targeted, the vaccine, the vaccine type and the supplier or manufacturer will be displayed in correspondence with the updated WHO “Covid-19 vaccine tracker and landscape” document on the Portal. WHO electronic documents and “Value Sets for EU Digital COVID Certificates” issued by the European Union (EU).

Deputy Minister of Health Tran Van Thuan said that up to now, the Covid-19 vaccine coverage rate in Vietnam has reached a very high level in the region and internationally. Vietnam is currently one of the six countries with the highest vaccination coverage rate in the world.

According to statistics on the Covid-19 vaccine vaccination portal, as of April 1, the country has injected more than 206 million doses. Nearly 100% of people 18 years of age and older have received the 1st dose, while the rate of 2nd dose is 99% and 3rd dose is 50%. For people 12 to 17 years old, the rate of nose 1 is 99% and nose 2 is 94%. The Ministry of Health and localities are also preparing to vaccinate children from 5 to 11 years old in early April.
