The number 1 famous racer in Vietnam shows how to deal with a car with a blown tire

How to handle when running bon but exploding tire? Here are the comments and sharing from famous professional car racer Vinh Nguyen (Nguyen Hong Vinh).

LTS: Talking about dangerous situations on the highway, there must be 9 of 10 drivers who are afraid of falling into a situation of tire explosion. Because this is an incident that no driver wants to try because it happened unexpectedly, not in the driving lesson plan.

So when running, but the tire explodes, how to handle it? Below are the comments and shares of the famous Vietnamese professional racing driver Nguyen Hong Vinh (Vinh Nguyen), Chairman of Redline Racing Club.

There are many articles on how to handle a fast moving car blow. Most give a general handling method that is basically about skills: Stay calm, keep driving tight, avoid sudden emergency braking…

From another perspective, people make comments about the importance of active safety systems such as ESP (electronically balanced) when any tire blows. At this time, when the wheel suddenly loses its grip and size, the car will immediately swerve to the side.

An experienced and calm driver will release the gas and steer to keep the car on the right track. At higher speeds, it is possible that the tire explosion will cause the vehicle to rotate (especially the rear tire), and experienced drivers will handle this situation without too much difficulty. Then, if the vehicle is equipped with ESP, it will be a useful tool to prevent the car from spinning, and can be confident that it will do it.

Electronic systems can react many times faster than humans, but ESP is not designed for keeping the car in the right lane in the event of a flat tire. When the tire blows, the wheel diameter becomes much smaller, and the steering wheel automatically tilts towards the blown tire. ESP will understand that the driver wants to turn, and does not intervene at that time, it only intervenes if it detects that the vehicle is turning because of loss of control. So in terms of skill, the driver needs to make sure the steering wheel returns to a straight position, and control it closely.

So is there a better system than ESP designed to prevent tire blowouts? Reality is not. Tires should be replaced when they are old, not waiting for them to explode.

But one system that Mercedes-Benz has put in place, which might work well in this case, is CrossWind Assist. The system is designed to combat sudden crosswinds when traveling at high speed, sensors quickly detect when the vehicle is suddenly deflected by a force, and bring the vehicle back on track. It adjusts direction using the brakes on each wheel.

In theory, cars equipped with this system should correct themselves much faster than cars without it. In tests, a car was easily deflected by strong winds out of the lane it was traveling in without this system.

Simulate the Crosswind Assist feature on Mercedes-Benz.

It should be noted, however, that either ESP or Crosswind Assist are designed to work with all four wheels intact, and these systems will be of little use in the event of a blown tire losing friction.

So we should not be too dependent on technology but need:

– Regular tire care
– Practice driving, practice driving skills of an out-of-control car.
– Buy a good and safe car.
– Run at the right speed, especially on crowded or cramped roads, you should not be confident in yourself but run fast.
