After that, people will take to market to sell each bundle for only 40,000 – 50,000 VND. But in recent years, many families living along National Highway 7 have purchased and processed it into a specialty dish for long-distance customers and tourists, so it is no longer sold in the market, becoming a rarity in the country.

“We buy cobia from people at prices ranging from 100,000 to 150,000 VND/kg, depending on the time of day. After that, small traders will sell a few dozen more, 180,000 VND/kg. Although expensive compared to sea fish and other freshwater fish, cobia fish has a fragrant flesh and soft bones, so many people are willing to spend money to buy it. There was even a time when I only returned a few dozen pounds and it was sold out because the shoppers were too busy, everyone ordered a few pounds to eat gradually,” said Ngoc Huong.

After about 30-45 minutes, they will add water and bring it to a boil. Especially to make cobia fish more delicious, add water 3 times until the bones are tired and the meat can be enjoyed. What’s more, boiled cobia fish is only truly delicious when it’s cooked in an earthen pot.
