In 2015, Mr. Ly was elected Secretary of the Commune Youth Union and then Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, so he did not have time to do business anymore.
According to Mr. Ly, in the past, there was a horizontal regime, along with liquefied gas trading, so he collected several hundred million dong. At the end of 2020, he bought a planned land plot, an area of 186m2 with the amount of 750 million VND to build a house.
Explaining about the funding to build this 3-storey house, Mr. Ly said: “After buying land next to the Commune People’s Committee, my wife and I sold 5m of provincial road surface land 547 (land given to me by my parents – PV). 1.75 billion VND. At that time, construction materials were still cheap, so I booked all of them for 460 million VND in advance. The house was built in early February 2021 and completed in October 2021.
Initially, the design was 1.8 billion dong excluding the interior, then some items were cut, so it could save 150 million dong. However, in the end, including electricity and water, it cost 1.8 billion VND. After building the house, I have to buy furniture for the coffee business, another 200 million.”

According to Mr. Ly, due to lack of money, he had to borrow from his sister and friends. Besides, grandparents on both sides of the paternal and maternal sides also gave a little more.
