Preserve the bas-relief in the old French building
Old French building located on the “diamond” land running along 4 sides of Nguyen Thai Hoc – Hung Vuong – Tran Phu – Le Truc streets (Ba Dinh district, Hanoi) being demolished to build a new project.
On June 24, 2017, the City People’s Committee. Hanoi has approved the investment policy of the multi-function project Postef in this land. A resident living on Nguyen Thai Hoc Street said that there are many childhood memories associated with this relief, when the American plane was shot down. He proposed to keep the bas-relief, so that in the future, future generations will hear about the heroic history of the nation.

In order to preserve and promote the value of the revolutionary resistance relic, the People’s Committee of Ba Dinh district has sent a document to Postal Equipment Joint Stock Company (Postef) proposed to protect the original status of the bas-relief.
Postef Company must report Hanoi People’s Committee, Department of Culture and Sports, Ba Dinh District People’s Committee plan to move, protect and restore the bas-relief at its original location before the work is completed and put into use.
Ba Dinh District assigned Culture and Information Office, People’s Committee of Dien Bien Ward in collaboration with Postef Companyspecialized departments of the Department of Culture and Sports perform tasks to preserve and protect the bas-relief marking the event on May 19, 1967, of Hanoi capital.
