Vietnam has 7 billionaires in the Forbes list for the first time
Recently, Forbes magazine (USA), announced the list of world billionaires in 2022. Accordingly, Vietnam this year has 7 representatives – the highest number ever.
They are Vingroup Chairman – Mr. Pham Nhat Vuong, CEO of VietJet Air – Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao, Chairman of Hoa Phat – Mr. Tran Dinh Long, Chairman of Techcombank – Mr. Ho Hung Anh, Chairman of Thaco – Mr. Tran Ba Duong, Masan Chairman – Mr. Nguyen Dang Quang and Chairman of Nova Group – Mr. Bui Thanh Nhon.
Except for Mr. Pham Nhat Vuong, the remaining billionaires all have equivalent or increased assets compared to last year.

Among these 7 characters, Mr. Bui Thanh Nhon is the first person to appear on the list of Forbes. He owns a fortune of $ 2.9 billion, ranked 1,053 in the world.
Meanwhile, this is the 10th time Mr. Pham Nhat Vuong has appeared on the list. Chairman of Vingroup owns $ 6.2 billion, ranked 411 in the world. The first time he was honored by Forbes was in 2013 with $1.5 billion.
This is the sixth time Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao has appeared on the Forbes list. The female billionaire owns $ 3.1 billion. Mr. Tran Dinh Long owns $3.2 billion, currently holds the position of 951 in the world.

According to Forbes, the pandemic and volatile markets have greatly affected the world’s billionaires this year. In the 36th Forbes list there are a total of 2,668 billionaires, 87 fewer than last year.
In total, these billionaires own $ 12.7 trillion, $ 400 billion less than in 2021. The most severe declines in wealth occurred in Russia and China. Still, there are more than 1,000 billionaires out of 2,668 who are richer than last year, and 236 have become billionaires in the past year.
The US still leads the world with 735 billionaires, owning a total of $4.7 trillion. China is still in second place, with 607 billionaires owning $2.3 trillion.
Another notable news is that this is the first time Elon Musk has topped the Forbes list of world billionaires.
