Vietnam officially has the 7th billionaire on the Forbes list

Forbes magazine (USA) has just announced the list of world billionaires in 2022. Accordingly, for the first time, Vietnam has 7 representatives – the highest number ever. Except for Mr. Vuong, the remaining billionaires are all have equivalent or increased assets compared to last year.

These are Vingroup Chairman Pham Nhat Vuong, VietJet Air CEO Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao, Hoa Phat Chairman Tran Dinh Long, Techcombank Chairman Ho Hung Anh, Thaco Chairman Tran Ba ​​Duong, Masan Chairman Nguyen Dang Quang and Nova Group Chairman Bui Thanh Nhon.

Specifically, this is the first time Nova Group Chairman Bui Thanh Nhon appears in the list of Forbes, with a fortune of 2.9 billion USD, ranking 1,053 in the world.

Meanwhile, Mr. Vuong appeared for the 10th time, with a fortune of 6.2 billion USD, ranked 411th in the world. He was first honored by Forbes in 2013 with $1.5 billion.

Thao is also on the list for the 6th time with a fortune of $3.1 billion. Steel billionaire Tran Dinh Long owns $3.2 billion, an increase of $1 billion compared to last year and ranks 951st in the world.

Mr. Vuong, Mrs. Thao and Mr. Long are currently in the top 1000 richest people in the world.

After that, Mr. Ho Hung Anh appeared in this list for the 4th time. His fortune this year increased to 2.3 billion USD.

Masan Chairman Nguyen Dang Quang followed with $1.9 billion, appearing on the list for the second year in a row.

In 7th place is Mr. Tran Ba ​​Duong and his family. He has been included in the Forbes list since 2018, currently owns $ 1.6 billion.

To be on the list, the method chosen by Forbes is to assess the size of an individual’s wealth based on stock prices and exchange rates as of March 11. Before that, we also predicted that Forbes would likely name Mr. Bui Thanh Nhon in this year’s list.

Thus, in 2022, the world has 2,668 billionaires, 87 fewer than last year. The combined net worth of billionaires is $12.7 trillion, down $400 billion from last year.

Also according to Forbes, the richest person on the planet is currently Tesla CEO Elon Musk with a net worth of $219 billion. Followed by Amazon boss – Jeff Bezos ($171 billion), LVMH chairman and CEO Bernard Arnault ($158 billion) and Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates ($129 billion).
