7 national players attend the golf tournament to warm up for the SEA Games

Preparing for the 31st SEA Games, a series of Vietnamese players will attend the Hanoi Open Golf Championship – Cup An Phat Holdings 2022.

Information from the BTC, up to this point, players Anh Minh, Khue Minh, Chuc An, Yen Vy, Bao Long, Dang Minh and Quang Tri have registered to participate in the tournament. Thus, 7/9 national players attending the 31st SEA Games competed in Hanoi’s traditional golf tournament.

This is the current generation of Vietnamese golf’s most talented athletes, promising to bring home a historic medal at the 31st SEA Games on home turf.

All will “heat up” for the biggest event of the year in May next year, when competing at the 2022 Hanoi Open Golf Championship.

After a 5-year hiatus, the Hanoi Golf Association (HNGA) organized the 2022 Hanoi Open Championship golf tournament, competing for the An Phat Holdings Cup (Hanoi Open – An Phat Holdings Cup 2022). The tournament will take place on April 15 and 16, at Sky Lake golf course (Chuong My, Hanoi).

Mr. Nguyen To Ninh, Chairman of the Hanoi Golf Association emphasized: “From 2022, the tournament will return and be held annually, on a large scale with the participation of hundreds of golfers.

The tournament focuses on detecting and training young athletes from the U12-U15 age group, thereby putting them on the special care list to provide forces for the national team.

Although absent from the Vietnamese golf village for a long time, Hanoi Open is not a strange name to golfers as well as fans.

Formerly a tournament to celebrate the 1,000th anniversary of Thang Long – Hanoi, recorded in the Vietnam Record Book with more than 1,000 golfers participating in October 2010.

Since 2011, the event is called Hanoi Open, organized by HNGA on the occasion of Capital Liberation Day (October 10, 1954).

Over the seasons, Hanoi Open has become a large-scale golf event of the Capital, attracting great support and attention from the media and the golf community across the country.

In particular, the golfer with the best performance at the tournament will be engraved on the championship gold cup.

The tournament is expected to have the participation of 600 golfers, taking place on both Sky and Lake courses (36 holes) of Sky Lake Resort & Golf Club.

The audience is open to all athletes, competing in 5 groups: Professional, Youth, Amateur Men, Amateur Women and Middle Age Men. Notably, for the first time, the tournament has a prize fund (VND 100 million) for the Professional table.

In particular, with the meaning of setting a launching pad for young Vietnamese talents, towards the sustainable development of Vietnamese golf in the future, the tournament organizer is committed to supporting 100% of competition costs for young talents. under 18 years old.

The qualifying round (April 15, 2022) takes place in a stroke play format over an 18-hole round. In the Men’s tournament (group A- B- C- D): 10 athletes with the best real score (Gross) will be selected to the Final round (final round). The remaining positions will be selected according to NET points after 18 holes until the number of 36 athletes per group is reached.

Hanoi Open is a launching pad for young talents of Vietnamese golf

At the Middle Ages and Women’s tournaments: 5 athletes with the best real score (Gross) will be selected for the finals and the remaining 31 positions will be based on NET scores after 18 holes. At the Professional tournament, the 36 athletes with the highest ranking according to the real score (Gross) will compete in the finals.

The final round (April 16, 2022) will take place in a stroke play format over an 18-hole round. The champion of each group is the person with the lowest Gross score after the tournament ends.
