Before that, from 2008 to 2018, Duc worked at the Central Highlands Steering Committee and held the position of Head of General Department. From 2018 – 2020, Duc moved to work as an expert at the Office of the People’s Committee of Dak Lak province.
In 2009, after working at the Central Highlands Steering Committee for a year, Duc learned that Saigon Agriculture Corporation was investing in implementing the project of afforestation and industrial tree planting in Ea Sup district.
In 2010, Germany invited some people to contribute capital and established Duc Nguyen Investment Consulting Joint Stock Company located in Buon Ma Thuot City, but in the list of German shareholders, his name was not.
From 2011 to October 2018, at Duc Nguyen Company, although not allowed to set up and operate the business, Duc faked 48 documents of this company.
Specifically, Duc forged signatures of shareholders, legal representatives, impersonated Deputy Director, used the seal of Duc Nguyen Company to stamp on the signatures of the above fake papers.
Since then, Germany has used these fake documents to register the change of business; fake legal status to open accounts of Duc Nguyen Company at some banks.
Notably, Duc also represented Duc Nguyen Company to have full authority to perform transactions on these accounts, and at the same time used fake documents representing the legal entity of Duc Nguyen Company to agree to sign a contract with the General Manager. Saigon Agriculture Company to legalize to advance 12 billion VND.
After more than a day of trial, based on the circumstances, aggravating and mitigating circumstances and the course of the case, the jury sentenced defendant Duong Ngoc Duc to 6 years in prison.
