Lo Thi Bich Phuong – a freelance actress (Cau Giay district) disagrees with the fact that preschools have not accepted children. Bich Phuong has a difficult situation, being a single mother raising 2 young children, so she has many difficulties. Normally, her oldest child goes to the center to teach disabled children and is picked up by her mother in the afternoon. The youngest daughter, 3 years old, has to follow her mother to work.

Bich Phuong shared: “Before the COVID-19 epidemic, I hired a maid from my hometown to take care of my children. But the epidemic was complicated, so the maid asked for leave, afraid to go back to Hanoi to be infected again. After that, I asked my grandmother, but it was not okay. Grandfather in the countryside was sick, she had to run back and forth between two places very hard, so I had to take care of my two children by myself.
Many days, without being able to ask relatives or friends to take care of my children, I had to carry my children to the studio. Everyone in the group was no stranger to the scene of mother and daughter hugging each other running back and forth. I’m used to it, but loving my children is lost in the hands of many people. One day, I was tired, so I cried and didn’t let anyone hold me so I could work.”
Mr. Luong Ngoc Lam (Ba Dinh district) is also in a restless mood. He counted each day looking forward to the City People’s Committee. Hanoi has issued a notice that preschool students can go to school. Mr. Ngoc Lam said, the family anchored people, the couple went to work from morning until late at night. Therefore, he had to ask his grandmother to take care of the children even though she was old and weak.
Although leaving her children to look after her made Mr. Ngoc Lam uneasy, there was no other way.
Ngoc Lam said: “My daughter is more than 2 years old, is in an active age, loves to explore. She runs and jumps all the time, making her grandmother very tired. I am worried about her health as well as insecure, afraid of her child. If you don’t pay attention often, you may fall. I hope kindergarten will reopen soon so that my child can go to school.”
“Not only me personally but also many other parents want their children to go to school soon at this time. Although their children have not been vaccinated against COVID-19 but we have to accept it, there is no other way but to” living with floods.” In case my child goes to school, my family will send him to a prestigious school, with a small class of students and experienced teachers in childcare to minimize the risk of disease transmission. Mr. Ngoc Lam expressed.
Thu Huong believes that staying at home for too long will affect intellectual development.
Not only affecting their own work, family time, parents also expressed concern about the process of acquiring knowledge of their children. They believe that under 6 years old is the “golden” period for children to learn languages and develop many other skills. The fact that children stay at home for a long time, only being exposed to the phone will affect intellectually and psychologically.
“When I go to school, the teacher teaches me many things in a methodical way. Of course, my parents can also teach me at home, but I’m busy with many jobs, so I can’t keep a close eye. I work all day, the child is taken care of by my grandmother. Grandma. Grandma I can’t just take care of my grandchildren, but I can’t teach them to study according to modern methods like today.” Ms. Thu Huong (Cau Giay district) has a 3-year-old child.
