Nick Bailey, 17, posted a video on his personal Instagram showing his close encounter with a great white shark.

The incident happened in the water near Stuart Inlet, Florida, USA. Nick Bailey shared that he was just over an arm’s length from an ocean predator.

On the second day, Nick Bailey continued diving and encountered a shark again. Video footage shows the 17-year-old swimming behind the shark and touching its tail fin.

Nick Bailey said: “It was the craziest thing. I met two sharks in two days. I touched a great white today. This is a once-in-a-lifetime, two-day impossible experience. forget mine”.

Nick Bailey is a freediving enthusiast, learning to dive at the age of 3 under the guidance of his father. Giving up exposure to many pools, learning to dive right in the pools and later in the sea.

Experts say that no matter how attractive it is, humans should not touch, provoke great white sharks like Nick Bailey did. The 17-year-old said the two great white sharks he met on two days were different. The first shark Nick Bailey encountered was longer and the dorsal fin was broken.

According to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, sharks are common near the state’s coast.

According to the University of Florida’s international shark attack records, there were approximately 57 recorded shark attacks worldwide in 2020. The average from 2015 to 2019 was 80 incidents per year. Great white sharks are responsible for the largest number of attacks, followed by tiger sharks.

However, keep in mind that people are more likely to have an accident with a lightning strike than a shark attack. However, people should not be subjective, rare, low rate but not mean never being bitten by a shark.

A rare case that just happened in South Africa, not as fortunate as a 17-year-old teenager in the US, two people swimming at La Lucia beach in Durban were killed.

Two adults have died after being attacked by a great white shark while swimming in the sea, according to a South African emergency medical service report. The right arm and chest were damaged due to the shark bite.
