Phenikaa announced the application of natural lighting technology

New technology successfully applied by Phenikaa Group to create a light source with a natural light spectrum, optimal for absorption by the human eye, announced on April 7.

“Natural illumination technology – Phenikaa Natural TrueCircadian” enables the creation of light sources, bio-spectrum regions that are enhanced and optimized for absorption by the human eye, the statement reads. The technology was researched and developed by scientists from Phenikaa University, engineers from Phenikaa Electronics Joint Stock Company and lighting experts from Phenikaa Group.

To create high-quality light sources that best reproduce natural sunlight and have a positive impact on circadian rhythms and human health, scientists have studied the solar spectrum. Sun, human evolution associated with forest edge and grassland, light spectrum transmitted directly and scattered on vegetation in different environments (on grassland, edge of forest, under tree canopy…) . This index is optimized by parameters and applied to LED chip production.

The research team has successfully designed and fabricated a blue-green LED chip (Cyan LED) that emits in the 460-500 nm wavelength region. This is the region of circadian light (Malanopic light) absorbed by photosensitive retinal ganglion cells (ipRGC) – a cell that regulates human circadian rhythms. Creating a blue-green LED chip helps to solve a multi-year limitation in the light spectrum of conventional LEDs, which is a recess in the 460470-500 nm wavelength range. This is considered the main cause of the decrease in the light quality index of light sources.

The creation of LEDs with a higher color rendering index with more flexible color temperature adjustment, a high R9 color index, and especially a light spectrum in accordance with circadian rhythms (with a luminous index of high M/P learning), helps maintain a healthy body, optimal for visual and non-visual perception. Research is patented in 2021.

In addition to the blue LED, 5 other inventions are also registered for intellectual property protection, including: green LED; Blue LED and blue LED manufacturing process; Green white LED; HCL LED (Human Centric Lighting – human-centered lighting); Horizontal Sunlight (Horizontal Sunlight) forms a technology platform that intelligently integrates Phenikaa to create a whole new generation of LED lights.

The highlight of this luminaire product is the simultaneous achievement of high values ​​for all 4 important light source indicators: high efficiency, high light quality (high CRI, R9), biological impact index. High (high M/P) helps to solve the paradox of “light efficiency decreases as light quality increases” in LED lighting technology.

Phenikaa is the first domestic manufacturer to publish indicators associated with light source quality and LED standards for human health, including CRI, R9, and M/P.
