The management board, the contractor to repair the Tan Son Nhat runway was criticized

In a document sent to the My Thuan Project Management Board recently, the Ministry of Transport criticized this unit for not aggressively organizing and urging the contractor to regularly repair the runway at Tan Son Nhat, TP. HCM, behind schedule.

The construction contractor, Cienco 4, was criticized for slow construction, not arranging enough manpower and machinery to comply with the contract. The design consultancy contractor is the Aviation Design and Construction Consulting Company (ADCC) which does not actively coordinate with the airport side, does not send staff to the construction site to edit the design documents, leading to have to fix many times, affecting the project progress.

In order to re-operate the two Tan Son Nhat runways during the holidays of April 30 and May 1, the Ministry of Transport directs contractors to gather manpower and equipment to complete construction, tow cables, device connection, definitively handle the existence. The My Thuan Project Management Board organized the acceptance test of the items and put the two runways into operation before April 25. The Director of the My Thuan Project Management Board is responsible to the Minister for the quality and progress of the project.

Tan Son Nhat runway renovation project includes renovating and upgrading runway 25R/07L; building new fast-exit taxiways, parallel taxiways and upgrading connecting taxiways, flight management works, signal lights… Total project investment is 2,015 billion VND, construction in two phases. The first phase will take 6 months and the second phase will be completed by the end of 2021, but behind schedule.

At Tan Son Nhat airport, the contractor is constructing the curb, the restricted area of ​​6 taxiways should use runway 25L/07R as a temporary taxiway.
