“I was out with my family, we were releasing the sheep back into the lawn and all of a sudden, the kangaroo was all white. Hard to believe, I was shocked,” Sarah Kinnon said.

Sarah Kinnon shared that she once saw an identical white kangaroo this time near her house 6 months ago, but at that time she did not have a camera so she could not take pictures.

When a specially pigmented organism with white fur occurs in the wild, they are often labeled as albino.

This is not the case, said Paul Oliver, curator of vertebrates at the Queensland Museum. They are looking to see if the species has fallen into the chromosomal state.

He said: “Just looking at the picture I see it has black eyes, so it’s hard to know for sure, but I don’t think it’s an albino kangaroo. If the animal is albino, double its eyes will be pink.”

According to Paul Oliver, this animal resembles a white kangaroo that was discovered about half a year ago. It is very difficult for animals with such distinct colors to survive long in the natural environment.

Many people worry that this kangaroo’s dominant coat color is dangerous for it. Its survival among the swarms is always too much of a risk, the white kangaroo is sure to become the focus of predators.

According to the 2018 statistics, the number of white kangaroos appearing in western NSW is increasing. Local people said that white kangaroos sometimes appear in the areas of Wanaaring, Kinchega National Park, Yunta.
