The Ukrainian Army is still significantly armored, so what about Russian precision firepower?

Svoboda Press: How many tanks do Russia and Ukraine have left?

A few hours ago, Svoboda Press published an article by Russian analyst Sergey Ischenko giving an overview of the situation of Russian and Ukrainian armored forces after more than a month of fighting.

In the article, Mr. Ischenko emphasized that “According to the Russian Defense Ministry, from February 24 to April 5, they destroyed 1,981 Ukrainian armored vehicles.” and note that although Kiev has come “3,630 armored vehicles (data as of 1/1) but no more than 3,015 are active”.

Analysts also note that “The Russian missile that destroyed the Zhytomyr tank repair plant in early March means that it is impossible to restore the sealed Ukrainian armored vehicles” leads to the conclusion that Kiev is now about “One-third of armored vehicles in February”.

On the Russian side, Mr. Ischenko noted that “There are at least 2,500 Russian armored vehicles still operating in Ukraine – almost three times more than the enemy” At the same time, the Russian Army continues to transfer more units of this type of equipment to the fronts.

Citing US sources Globalfirepower.com, Ischenko said Russia “has up to 12,000 tanks spread from Kaliningrad to the Pacific Ocean and most of them are T-72 vehicles (T-72A, T-72B, T-72BA and T-72B3). ) and T-80”.

This leads to the conclusion that “Faced with the terrible prospect (of Russian domination in both air and ground), Kiev had to beg for help from the West – that is, hope in the Soviet-era tanks of the countries NATO was once a member of the Soviet Union. members of the Warsaw Pact”.

The analyst notes that 30 T-72s have arrived in Ukraine from the Czech Republic, 174 T-72s are likely to come from Poland and do not exclude hundreds of others that are stored by Warsaw – but do not appreciate all T-72s. -72M1 (Czech and Polish) and T-72M1R (upgraded Polish variant).

At the end of the article, Mr. Ischenko emphasized that Kiev has no other option to move tanks to the front than by rail – a target that is being monitored by the Russian side and continuously conducts raids.

RIA Novosti: Russia’s accurate firepower takes only 3-5 minutes to hit the target

In a related development, the RIA Novosti news agency, citing a Russian military source, said that the ability of reconnaissance – attack and reconnaissance – target indication during the military operation in Ukraine has shown high efficiency.

The source also noted that the process from detection to destruction takes place in real time as follows:

“For example, a group of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) detected the location of the Ukrainian Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS) – this data was sent via an automatic communication system to the command post, the command will assign the artillery battery to fire – the UAV continues to calibrate until the target is destroyed.

On average, the time from detecting a target to being destroyed is 3 to 5 minutes.
