Using all the money accumulated in 2 years after graduating from school, she opened a fashion clothing store with a capital of several tens of millions. Vuong Dinh Cuong (29 years old), an office worker, and her husband once saw a kebab truck model of 8X entrepreneur Le Quoc Thach. Seeing a strange and rare type of triangle bread in Binh Duong, Mr. Cuong encouraged his wife to try again starting a new business in the food industry.

The couple combined for about 20 million, decided to contact to open a kebab bread truck for sale on the sidewalk. In the first few days of selling, the couple was scratched because of the sun, rain, and wind. The morning sun was like fire, the afternoon thunderstorms came suddenly, sometimes pouring the whole bread cart.

Going through these difficult days, the banh mi cart began to have customers thanks to the crispy, fragrant cake, the thin crust that was not boring to eat, the new aromatic grilled meat filling every day with fresh vegetables, making the couple’s kebab become attractive and familiar to diners. From a few dozen drives/day to more than 100 drives, after a few months to 200-250 drives, the couple cried tears of joy.

After 1 year of selling on the sidewalk, thanks to a stable number of customers, Ms. Ly decided to switch to the kiosk model. “By 2018 I switched to kiosks, the number of customers was stable like that.”

When the bakery was bringing in a stable source of income, the Covid-19 epidemic slowed down the business situation. To save manpower and space, the bakery shop was transformed into a fast food restaurant model. Besides kebab, she sells two new dishes, burger and fried chicken. Reasonable prices and flavors suitable for local customers’ taste makes the store’s sales gradually revive.

“The new model has both increased revenue and increased profits for me, so I like this model very much, always innovating to catch up with the current market. Our guests also have more choices so they don’t have to. find another place to buy food,” Ly shared.

Earn tens of times more, manage 10 stores

After 5 years of starting a business with sidewalk bread carts, Ms. Ly was able to smile because of her choice. Currently, a fast food restaurant on April 30, Ward Phu Hoa, City. Thu Dau Mot, Binh Duong sell 300-400 loaves of bread and burgers every day, not to mention fried chicken and drinks. She has 10 part-time employees to work at the store.

On her entrepreneurial journey, Ms. Ly has always been supported and accompanied by her husband.

Mr. Cuong works as a company accountant from 8 am to 17 pm. Before going to work or after shift, they take advantage of their wife’s fast food restaurant to support. Ly is touched by having a husband who understands, shares and always accompanies her on every choice in life.

Recalling her professional job when she just graduated from college with a salary of just over 3 million dong, then holding a loss of several tens of millions, making her cry for several months because of the clothing business, Ly was no longer depressed when the store fast food every month and night about 60 million dong.

“After 5 years of starting a business, I feel it is very right to switch to this fast food industry, this is the best decision I have ever made,” shared Ms. Ly.

Currently, not only is she the owner of a fast food restaurant, she is also the manager of other stores in the system in Binh Duong, with 10 different franchised branches.
