A day after the herbicide was poured on him, Mr. T. discovered a red area of the skin on his knee. But after that, he continued to go to his job, spraying 8 hours a day for 2 weeks.

The patient is taken care of by the doctor.

MSc Doan Uyen Vy, in charge of the Poison Control Clinic of Cho Ray Hospital, said that this is a condition of long-term exposure to the herbicide 2,4 D – an acidic drug, so the patient’s skin is now like blisters, allergies.

Due to Mr. T.’s toxic state is quite severe and spread to the whole body, so according to MSc Doan Uyen Vy, the patient will have to be treated for more than 1 month for the skin to gradually return to normal.

The patient is very serious, so it takes 6 months of treatment before the skin slowly returns – Dr. Vy said.

“When spraying herbicides and germicides, everyone needs to wear protective gear. It is necessary to pay attention to the direction of the wind when spraying to avoid being sprayed on people. In particular, if the drug is accidentally spilled on your clothes, you must go to the bathroom and change clothes immediately. And once exposed to chemicals from herbicides, germicides, etc., if there are abnormal medical conditions on the skin afterwards, people should go to the Poison Control Clinic of Cho Ray Hospital for examination. find the cause and treat it in time to avoid possible serious complications”, MSc Doan Uyen Vy recommended.
