The case of the White House spending $7.5 billion, but VinFast also benefits: The reality is “humiliating”?

In the trend of car manufacturers gradually converting their product lines to electric vehicles, VinFast will take the lead in completely phasing out the internal combustion engine by the end of this year, according to a statement by VinFast.

As planned, VinFast will soon be available in the US, but when entering a new market, infrastructure will be a very interesting thing, at least for manufacturers with electric vehicles. While VinFast has not announced plans to build or cooperate with charging stations in the US, the White House has once signed a document that is expected to help VinFast in this.

VinFast VF8 is considered one of the key models of the Vietnamese automaker when participating in the international market.

Specifically, in 2020, the White House announced a plan to use up to 7.5 billion USD (equivalent to more than 172 trillion VND) to strengthen the charging station system for electric vehicles in the US. . The goal of this plan is to increase the number of electric vehicle charging stations in the US to 500,000 stations.

According to data released by the US Department of Energy, there are currently more than 1.8 million electric vehicles in circulation in the US, but the number of charging stations is only about 41,000 charging stations, equivalent to about 100,000 charging ports; Fast charging stations have less than 5000 stations.

This $7.5 billion will probably be used by the US government to build new or to invest in a capable company, but either way, it will be an investment that will probably help investors. Electric car companies like VinFast get easier development opportunities.

Another relevant information is that the US government chooses 2035 as the time to complete its plan to renew its fleet of service vehicles, from using internal combustion engines to pure electric models.

According to information from the US government, in 2020, out of about 657,000 models of vehicles in service of the government, only nearly 1,800 are electric vehicles, or less than 0.3%. In this 2022, the number of electric vehicles serving the government will have another 1,854 models.

With a thick bulletproof coating on both the body and the glass, the Cadillac One serving the president of the United States is one of the most fuel-efficient vehicles in the entire fleet. If converting to an electric vehicle, will this model be replaced?

It should be noted that changing the fleet model also requires corresponding changes. According to information posted by Reuters, the US government will need up to 100,000 car charging points to service the models in use.

However, the number of charging stations owned by the US government is still far from reaching that number of 100,000. According to a report by a US government agency, currently the number of charging stations owned by the US government is only about 1,100 points.
