Apple offers Face ID repair service for iPhone X

Earlier this year, Apple introduced new tools for its technicians to help repair the Face ID module without having to replace the entire iPhone. However, these tools are only available for iPhone XS and above. Currently, the company has extended this repair to the iPhone X generation.

In an internal memo sent to Apple Stores and authorized service providers (via MacRumors), the company confirmed that it now offers tools to repair the Face scanner system. ID on iPhone X without having to replace the entire phone.

In the past, if for some reason the Face ID on your iPhone was faulty, Apple would replace the phone with a new one because there was no way to fix it with just the Face ID module – probably because security reasons. However, the company has now developed a new method to securely replace just the Face ID module.

Last year, Apple also provided new methods for its technicians that could repair the iPhone’s back glass without having to replace the entire device.

This, of course, brings a number of benefits to both the company and the customer. From an environmental point of view, providing partial repair rather than full equipment replacement results in less waste. At the same time, parts repair costs are lower for the customer, and they can sometimes be done more quickly than having to wait for the unit to replace.

However, it is still unclear whether the new repair option will be available in all Apple Stores and repair shops worldwide.
