Earlier, Mr. Johnson also approved another military aid package ($130 million) for Ukraine, and pledged to lend the country $500 million through loans from the World Bank.

The military aid package approved by the British Prime Minister on April 8 includes Starstreak, 800 NLAW anti-tank missiles, and killer UAVs.

Mr. Johnson has been one of the most ardent pro-Ukrainian leaders since Russia launched a “special military operation” in late February 2022.

To date, London has sent more than 4,000 NLAW missiles to Ukraine and convened a meeting of donors to persuade its allies to step up arms supplies to Ukraine. In addition, Britain also imposed strong economic sanctions on Russia.

On April 9, British Prime Minister Johnson posted on Twitter the following message: “UK will send more defensive weapons to Ukraine and will work with G7 partners to target every pillar of the economy. Russia to make sure Putin fails.”
