Nearly 209,000 workers choose to withdraw their social insurance once in the first three months of the year, according to statistics from Vietnam Social Security.

From 2016 to 2020, more than 3.7 million people choose to enjoy a one-time social insurance policy; nearly 750,000 people leave the system every year, accounting for over 5% of the total number of participants. 97% of people who choose to withdraw once are employees after a year of leave without paying social insurance. The withdrawals are mainly from the group of young workers outside the state sector, from 26 to 29 years old. This rate in women is 55.6%, in men is 44.4%.
According to current regulations, social insurance payers are entitled to a pension after 20 years of payment. Conditions for withdrawing one-time social insurance are quite easy such as participants of compulsory social insurance after one year of resignation, participants of voluntary social insurance after one year do not continue to pay but less than 20 years. close…
However, according to Resolution 28 of the Central Committee in 2018 on reforming social insurance policies, the minimum period of social insurance payment to enjoy pension can be reduced from 20 to 15, even 10 years, creating a conditions for early employees to enjoy pension. The Government will soon develop and submit to the National Assembly for promulgation the revised Law on Social Insurance and the Law on Employment to amend regulations under the Resolution of the Central Government.
