My husband’s house is cramped, there are only two rooms. One room is my husband’s parents. One room belongs to her husband’s sister but is vacant because she is already married. I am the new bride, I thought I would be in that empty room. Unexpectedly, before the wedding day, the mother-in-law said directly that my wife and I would still sleep in the living room, and the room was empty for my brother-in-law to stay when he wanted to go back to sleep.

I was shocked. The living room is not a private place where a young couple can stay. My mother-in-law also said she would make a curtain frame to cover it so it wouldn’t be annoying. I objected immediately. The other room is empty, why not let us in to have our own space?

Seeing that my attitude was too resolute, my mother-in-law also made it tense. She said angrily: “If we have money, we will build our own house to live in.
