Shipwreck off the coast of Tunisia, at least 13 people died

According to Mourad Turki, a spokesman for the Sfax port city court, among the 13 bodies discovered were six women and six children.

The migrants, all of them from sub-Saharan Africa, crossed the sea on two ships, Mr. Turki said.

Rescuers have rescued 37 migrants in the past two days, but many more are still missing.

According to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), about 1,300 migrants have died or gone missing in the central Mediterranean in 2021.
