Top 10 best-selling cars in the US in early 2022
In the first quarter, the Top 10 best-selling cars in the North American country, including 9 high-rise models, only one sedan appeared, was the Toyota Camry.
The disruption of the supply chain continues to adversely affect the business of car manufacturers as well as the dealer system. For many customers, finding a new car available at the showroom is difficult, buying it at a reasonable price is even harder.
As a result, a series of car manufacturers reported a decrease in sales compared to the same period last year. However, some products are still sold strongly, most of which are familiar names of the Top 10 at each year-end summary.
Rating | Car model | Sales |
first | Ford F-series | 140,701 |
2 | Ram Pickup | 127.116 |
3 | Chevrolet Silverado | 118,796 |
4 | Toyota RAV4 | 101,192 |
5 | Jeep Grand Cherokee | 75.117 |
6 | Toyota Highlander | 66.026 |
7 | Toyota Camry | 61.505 |
8 | Honda CR-VA | 58,579 |
9 | GMC Sierra | 56,617 |
ten | Chevrolet Equinox | 56.036 |
A decrease of 31% over the same period in 2021 does not make the F-series lose the top spot. This year, there is an electric version of the F-150 Lightning that promises to continue to strengthen the position of the most popular pickup line in the US.
In turn, behind the F-series are two other American pickup models: Ram Pickup and Chevrolet Silverado. Like the F-series, sales of the Ram Pickup also fell but enough to bring in second place. While Silverado had a slight increase in business results compared to the same period last year.
The top 10 also includes three other American models, including the Jeep Grand Cherokee (5), the GMC Sierra (9) and the Chevrolet Equinox (10), including an SUV, a pickup and a crossover.
The rest of the rankings are Japanese cars, with three from Toyota, and one from Honda. In particular, Toyota Camry is the only model in the Top 10 that is not a high-rise car. The sedan maintains its position in the list of best-selling cars in the US – where customers especially prefer SUVs and pickups. Compared to the same period in 2021, Camry also decreased by 21% but still surpassed all other competitors in the same segment, such as “family” Corolla to be honored.
