Trump Endorses Dr. Mehmet Oz in Pennsylvania Senate primaries

Former President Donald Trump endorsed Dr. Mehmet Oz in the Pennsylvania State Senate primaries.

Known for “Dr. Oz Show”, he turned off the phone to focus on his campaign, the surgeon is not a fan of Trump’s nod. Oz’s Republican opponent, hedge fund CEO David McCormick, has also caught Trump’s ear.

McCormick’s wife, Dina Powell, served as deputy national security adviser to the former president.

But besides sharing TV stardom with Trump, Oz is popular by former first lady Melania Trump and one-time presidential adviser Sean Hannity by Fox News.

On Saturday, the celebrity welcomed the endorsement with a series of Trump-influenced statements, including that he would “defend the policies of America First,” which would “drain the swamp of insiders in Washington” and will hit back at “Joe Biden’s radical policies.”

As several GOP-led countries have been developing bills that could make it difficult to get an abortion to make it legal, Oz said, “I will be a strong pro-life voice in the Senate.”

McCormick’s campaign responded to Trump’s endorsement by mentioning tweet from its general counsel, Jeff Roe, said the chief executive “will become the next Senator from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.” opened when Republican Pat Toomey decided not to run for re-election this year.

Maybe because of his TV campaign, many other candidates have against Ozwith little impact to date, except perhaps narrowing the field for surgeons and executives.
