Breaking the chain of consuming and hoarding counterfeit money in Ben Tre

On April 11, the police of Ben Tre province prosecuted 4 defendants to investigate the act of storing and circulating counterfeit money, including: Tran Ngoc Hoang (SN 1988), Tran Van Hen (SN 1971), Tran Vu Khanh (SN 1990) – living in Binh Duong province – and Huynh Van Duc (SN 1948), living in Dong Nai province.

According to initial information, in February 2022, Duc went to Chau Thanh district, Ben Tre province to consume counterfeit money, so he was discovered. During an emergency search of Man’s people, vehicles and related places, functional forces seized many exhibits, which were counterfeit Vietnamese money and money from many countries such as the US, Cambodia, Japan, Korea, Uzbekistan… Total The amount of counterfeit Vietnamese money seized was more than 1 billion VND.

Continuing to expand the investigation, the Ben Tre Provincial Police determined that Hoang was the one who organized the production and printing of counterfeit money to sell to other subjects. Police in Ben Tre province coordinated with other provinces to arrest Hoang, Hen and Khanh.

Searching the residences of these subjects, the police seized an additional 280 million counterfeit Vietnamese dong with a face value of 500,000 dong. In addition, the police also seized many Cambodian coins (suspected to be fake) and the means, machines and tools used to print counterfeit money.
