Gazprom continues to ship Russian gas to Europe

According to a Gazprom spokesman, the corporation provided gas of Russia through a gas pipeline on the territory of Ukraine at the request of European consumers – more than 79 million m3 of gas on April 10.

This volume of gas is less than the amount set out in the previous long-term orders of about 109 million cubic meters of gas per day.

A day earlier, Gazprom also supplied more than 78 million m3 of gas through a gas pipeline on the territory of Ukraine.

On April 10, European Commission (EC) Vice President for Climate Affairs Frans Timmermans said that the European Union (EU) can set more ambitious goals in the transition to natural resources. recycled energyin the context that the EU is looking for alternative import sources for oil and gas from Russia.

After Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine, the EC proposed that Europe cut Russia’s gas imports by two-thirds this year and plan to eliminate this item by 2027.

The 27 EU member states have agreed to reduce their total net greenhouse gas emissions by 55% by 2030 from 1990 levels, a step towards net zero emissions by 2050.

The EC is expected to propose a “Repower EU” plan next May on how the EU could abandon Russian fossil fuels.
