The ‘high-paying light job’ trap deceives tens of thousands of ‘milky mothers’

Ha TinhLe Huy Nhat and Nguyen Huu Hieu targeted “dairy moms” in need of work, tricking them into recruiting them as collaborators to sell fake cosmetics.

Nhat (residing in Thanh Hoa) and Hieu (29 years old, from Thai Binh province) jointly opened many companies, specializing in trading and trading in cosmetics. Getting to know each other via social networks in 2018 during the process of posting job advertisements at job groups, seeing that many women who are raising children are economically disadvantaged, wishing to find jobs remotely, the two planned to cheat. money from them by recruiting collaborators.

In October of the same year, Nhat and Hieu set up many Fanpages under the names of companies where they are directors, specializing in selling cosmetics such as lipsticks, face masks, perfumes, shower gels, etc. increase access.

Under the guise of successful entrepreneurs, the duo recruited 100 employees, divided into many management levels, working in many domestic branches such as Hanoi, Thai Binh, Bac Giang, Thanh Hoa, Ha Tinh, and Ho Chi Minh City. . The management team receives a salary of 10-15 million VND per month, in addition to an additional “commission” of 13-30%, depending on the number of goods sold.

This group posted on Fanpage to recruit collaborators to work online, giving priority to “baby mothers”, promising a solid salary of more than 10 million VND per month. According to the job description, mothers every day just need to post articles and pictures about cosmetic items, customers who want to buy products can import the company’s products to sell. Even if there are no guests, they still get 50,000 VND a day. If there are guests, they receive 100,000 VND, in addition, a product sold also enjoys 10-20% difference. Cosmetics for sale from 500,000 to 8 million dong a product, this is a fake, poor quality, price 40-50 times higher than the real cost.

When there is a “prey” to join the line, the staff in the group of Japan and Hieu will use junk sim or set up a virtual social network account to call, text to order in bulk, lie to use , give to partners or import to resell for profit. When collaborators receive the order, they will contact the company again, having to spend from a few million to tens of millions of dong to import goods to deliver to customers. To give the victim confidence, they print out a “guarantee ticket” that promises a refund if they keep the ticket.

When the courier unit responded that the cosmetics had been delivered to the collaborators, the company and the original “order customers” immediately cut off contact and canceled social media accounts. Victims cannot return the wrongly ordered goods, because the transaction addresses listed on the vouchers are fake.

Clues about the line were revealed in early 2021, when Ha Tinh police discovered a group of young men and women in the area often gathered together to play, showing signs of economic ignorance. Police later determined this group was participating in a large-scale online fraud organization.

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Phi Hai, Head of the Criminal Police Department, Ha Tinh Police, said that the Special Project Board had mobilized hundreds of officials to find out identities and clues. During the review process from online to real life, scouts determined that the group of young people in Ha Tinh were only first-level managers and staff under Nhat and Hieu.

The trick of buying cheap cosmetics, then recruiting collaborators to import goods at much higher prices and then “bomb goods” is very difficult to prove the nature, because it is simply a transaction. A number of agencies that have received the victim’s denunciation have entered into the investigation, but there is not enough solid evidence to convict, Mr. Hai said.

In addition, Nhat and Hieu had little contact with the staff under them, but delegated to close assistants. When they are passive, they will erase the traces. One aspect that makes it difficult for investigative agencies is that many victims are embarrassed, afraid that their families will know about it, so they refuse to cooperate.

After four months, the case file and portraits of two “super donkeys” disguised as directors were erected by the scout. At this time, the line has spread to more than 45 provinces and cities. Realizing that Japan and Hieu wanted to “cover” the whole country, in some big cities like Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City opening dozens of more branches, the specialized committee decided to cut off the “octopus faucet” before they reached far.

In mid-April 2021, Ha Tinh police mobilized hundreds of officers and soldiers, divided into many working groups, simultaneously attacked dozens of locations in many provinces and cities, arrested nearly 40 people, collected 3.6 billion VND. cash coins and many related exhibits. At a major road in Hanoi, when Nhat and Hieu were driving on the road, they were surrounded by police and asked to go to the investigative agency to report.

“Japanese and Hieu always initially asserted that importing goods to sell to collaborators was only a civil transaction,” said the head of the Criminal Police Department, Ha Tinh Public Security, and said that after a few days of “experimentation”, Two “super donkeys” have pleaded guilty.

The police determined that, from operating in 2018 to the time of being wiped out, Nhat and Hieu and their accomplices had deceived tens of thousands of people in 45 provinces and cities across the country, illegally profiting hundreds of billions of dong. Only in the last 6 months of 2020, the number of victims being scammed is more than 3,000.

According to the investigative agency, on average, a victim was scammed about 7-8 million VND, in some cases because he wanted to “remove the gauze”, he lost several tens of millions of dong. Regarding the cause, in addition to being gullible, some people are also greedy for profit, believing in false promises of “work less, enjoy more” or “light work with high salary” so they “fall into traps”.

Nhat and Hieu and their accomplices were prosecuted, arrested and banned from leaving the place of residence for crimes Fraudulent appropriation of assetsaccording to article 174 of the Penal Code.

The case is under investigation to expand, from July 2021 to now, dozens of “centipedes” of the line have fallen into the net.
