The Queen of England talked about her “exhausted” experience with COVID-19
Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II, who will soon turn 96, says she is extremely tired from the disease COVID-19 in February, although aides said the queen was only mildly ill.
At the time, Buckingham Palace said the queen had been vaccinated and had only “mild, cold-like symptoms”. However, she was forced to cancel a series of meetings with foreign diplomats during celebrations 70 years of reign.
Queen Elizabeth recalled her experience with COVID-19 in an online chat with staff and patients of a new Queen’s COVID-19 treatment facility at the Royal London Hospital inaugurated in East London.
Speaking to a COVID-19 patient who was on a ventilator, Queen Elizabeth said: “It makes you very tired and exhausted, doesn’t it? This terrible pandemic. It’s not a good result,” the Queen said in a video released by Buckingham Palace on April 10.
The new Royal London Hospital facility was built in record time to cope with the rapidly growing COVID-19 wave in London.
Last October, the queen was hospitalized overnight and since then, she has rarely appeared in public. In a rare revelation about her health, Queen Elizabeth admitted that she has problems walking.
The Queen will not attend Holy Thursday Mass on April 14. Prince Charlesthe eldest son and heir to the throne, will attend on behalf of the queen.
Queen Elizabeth will celebrate her 96th birthday on April 21.
