Recently, Riot Games has announced information related to the upcoming Wild Rift Champions SEA 2022 (WCS) Finals. Here’s everything you need to know about this tournament:
List of teams participating in WCS Finals 2022
So far, 11 teams have won a place in the WCS Finals after showing their true bravery and talent in this year’s WR Champions SEA season. Teams participating in the playoffs include:
Masters – Flash Wolves, ONE team
Indonesia – Persis Esports
Malaysia/Singapore – SEM9
Oceania – Smash Logic Gaming
Philippines – FENNEL Adversity, Rex Regum Qeon
Thailand – EVOS Esports, Buriram United Esports
Vietnam – Team Flash, Cerberus Esports
Team Flash is the champion of WCS Vietnam
In which, the teams will be divided based on their performance in the domestic tournament. Team Flash with the WCS Vietnam championship has entered the Playoffs, while CES with the runner-up position will have to start from the Play-Ins round.
Time
– Warm-up Round: April 23 – April 24
– Playoffs: April 26 – April 27, April 29 – May 1, May 6 – May 7
– Final: 08/05
Reward:
Teams will compete for 4 places to attend the Icons Global Championship Wild Rift with a total prize value of up to 200,000 USD.
Formula
During the Warm-up round, the teams will compete in a round-robin match against each other in a BO2 format. The top team with the highest score will go straight to the Playoffs, the remaining ticket will be determined by a BO5 match between the 2nd and 3rd place teams.
In the Playoffs round, the teams will be divided into groups and compete in the format of the winners and losers. All matches will be played in BO5 format, except for the Loss Bracket Finals and Grand Finals will be conducted in BO7 format. If a team falls out of the Winners Bracket, they will have one more chance to qualify for the finals by winning all remaining matches under the Loss Bracket.
This is an important tournament and the only door to the tournament Icons Global Championship Finals 2022 taking place in Europe this summer. The two representatives of Vietnam, Team Flash and Cerberus Esports, are both in quite high form, especially Team Flash with the recent sublimation. Therefore, home fans can be completely confident that there will be the first time reaching the big sea.
