Ambassador Ha Kim Ngoc continues to hold the position of Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs

According to Decision 428/QD-TTg published on the Government Portal, Ambassador Ha Kim Ngoc – former Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Vietnam to the US – will return to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for work.

Mr. Kim Ngoc will continue to hold the position of Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs as before receiving his assignment to the US in 2018.

Also according to the Government Portal, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh also made a decision regarding Dang Dinh Quy, former Head of the Permanent Representative of Vietnam to the United Nations (UN) in New York (USA).

According to Decision 430/QD-TTg, Mr. Dinh Quy will resign from the position of Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs from April 1, 2022 and transfer to the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam to do teaching and scientific research in accordance with the provisions of Decree No. Decree No. 141/2013/ND-CP dated October 24, 2013.

Ambassador Dang Dinh Quy assumed the role of Head of the Permanent Mission of Vietnam to the United Nations in New York from July 2018 and presented the Letter of Credentials to the Secretary-General of the United Nations on July 12, 2018.

During his term of office, Ambassador Dinh Quy represented Vietnam as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for the 2020-2021 term, including two months as the Council’s President in January 2020. and April 2021.

Mr. Dinh Quy’s successor is Deputy Foreign Minister Dang Hoang Giang. Mr. Hoang Giang received the appointment decision in January 2022 and started his working term from February 17 this year.
