In the world, Israel is one of the earliest countries to implement the vaccination program for children aged 5-11. The country urgently approved the Pfizer vaccine on November 15, 2021, after the fourth wave of COVID-19. At this point, children aged 5-11 make up nearly half of all positive cases.

Europe has started licensing vaccines for children 5-11 years old from November 2021. After that, countries in the region began to vaccinate young children. As a rule, the vaccine is given to children 5-11 years old in Europe with 1/3 of the adult dose and two doses are given at 21-day intervals. In addition to the licensed Pfizer vaccine, in March, the European Medicines Agency also approved the Moderna vaccine for children aged 6-11 years.

In the US, vaccination for children 5-11 years old has been carried out since November 2021. The licensed vaccine is from Pfizer.
