According to the Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, increasing the regional minimum wage will bring benefits to both workers and businesses. Mr. Ngoc Duy Hieu said, Resolution No. 27-NQ/TW on reforming salary policy for cadres, civil servants, public employees, armed forces and employees in enterprises has also determined, from In 2021, the State periodically adjusts regional minimum wages on the basis of recommendations of the National Wage Council. Article 91 of the Labor Code 2019 stipulates that the minimum wage is the lowest salary paid to employees who perform the simplest jobs under normal working conditions in order to ensure the minimum standard of living of employees and their families, suitable for socio-economic development conditions.
