This week Mazda Japan has officially announced the operating parameters of the Mazda SkyActiv-D 3.3L I-6 engine appearing on its new CX-60 mainstream SUV. In the common diesel configuration, this equipment gives a capacity of 228 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque when accompanied by a 2-wheel drive system and 8-speed automatic transmission.
However, Mazda also offers a higher option for customers in need with the e-SkyActiv D version that adds a 48V auxiliary hybrid system, bringing the total capacity of the car to 251 horsepower, torque of 550 Nm. Stand-alone electric motor with a capacity of 17 horsepower and 153 Nm of torque, the included battery has a capacity of 0.33 kWh.
With the above high-end version, the SUV is capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km / h in 7.3 seconds, with a maximum speed of 220 km / h. The weight of this version is 1,900 kg.
Meanwhile, the specifications of the 3.0L I-6 petrol engine have not been announced yet. The option below this version (and also the default type of the petrol version) is the 2.5L SkyActiv-G 4-cylinder 185 hp, 250 Nm line like the CX-5.
Finally, the main plug-in hybrid version of the Mazda CX-60 produces 323 hp and 500 Nm of torque. The acceleration of this version is significantly superior when it only takes 5.8 seconds to reach the 100 km / h mark, but the maximum speed is limited to 200 km / h, the weight is also heavier at 2,050 kg. This particular version has a temporary pure electric operating mode for the distance from 61 to 63 km.
Mazda CX-60 will officially open for sale in early autumn 2022.
