April 12, Police Department Criminal (PC02) Bac Giang province police sent a force to bring murder suspect Pham Thi Ha (SN 1984, resident of Cau Thuong street, Nha Nam town, Tan Yen district) to the hospital to monitor her health after Subject said he was unwell after drinking rat poison to commit suicide while hiding.
An investigative officer from PC02 said that Pham Thi Ha had a bad identity when she had a previous conviction for prostitution and was sentenced to 6 months in prison. After returning to the locality, Ha lived alone because her father and younger brother were both working far away, and the subject’s mother had passed away. The female suspect is also not married or in a romantic relationship with anyone.
“Returning to the locality, Ha only had fun, did not work and did not have a stable job. Subject also did not interact, contact anyone in the locality, life is relatively closed”, this official information.
Talking about public speculation that Ha has a mental illness, the investigator said that the subject did not show any signs of mental illness when he was arrested and even during working with the police. In the locality, Ha is not subject to monitoring people with mental illnesses, and has no medical records.

Regarding the incident, Ms. T. (resident of Cau Thuong street) said that the house where Ha hid was her family’s place of worship, no one lived. The abandoned building where Ha hides and sleeps overnight is used by the family as a place to dry firewood, usually no one comes.
Some local people added that many people had witnessed Ha using a knife to threaten to cut a small merchant during a small dispute in buying goods at a market near his house.
Also on the afternoon of April 12, the victim’s family was handed over the body and organized a post-mortem for the young girl. A relative of the clothing shop owner’s last name shared, M. lived with his parents in Phu Quoc, Kien Giang for many years and just returned to his hometown to open a clothing shop, which is also M’s house. After Ha burst in cut M, the subject threw the knife but got stuck on a tree branch and was seized by the police.

At the police station, Pham Thi Ha confessed that she and the DTM victim (SN 1997, living in Cau Thuong residential group) had no personal conflicts or enmity. Previously, the subject bought clothes at Ms. M’s shop.
On the evening of April 11, Ha returned to the shop and asked to change clothes, but Ms. M. did not agree. Words back and forth, Ha used a knife to cut many times, causing Ms. M. to die at about 20 pm on the same day. The crime scene is the entrance to Grandma M’s house, right next to the clothing store. After committing the crime, Ha left the weapon at the scene and fled.
Around 10:20 a.m. on April 12, Ha was arrested while hiding in an abandoned house about 200 meters away from the subject’s residence.
