According to information on Vietnamnet newspaper, the Criminal Police Department – Ho Chi Minh City Police in collaboration with the local police took the testimony of the baby’s mother (43-year-old Ms. NTAN, native of Bac Lieu).

In addition, the police also took statements for two biological aunts living with the baby, and two sisters of Mrs.

As noted by the Law of Ho Chi Minh City, the baby’s mother, Ms. NTAN (43 years old, from Bac Lieu) said that around 2014 she knew and lived as husband and wife with a man in Can Duoc district, Long An province.

The two have a child together, A and a six-year-old son. In 2017, the two broke up. Mrs. N. brought her two children to live with her two sisters in a house in Tien hamlet (Tan Thong Hoi commune, Cu Chi district).

On April 1, Mrs. N. saw that her daughter had scratches on her body, swollen hands and feet, and a wound on her forehead, so she asked, and she said she had hurt herself.

The next day, Mrs. N. took her child to a general clinic in Cu Chi district and was informed that she had kidney disease. The clinic asked the family to take the baby to the hospital as soon as possible for testing and treatment.

At noon on April 2, Mrs. N. took baby A. to Cu Chi Regional General Hospital for examination. Doctors said that baby A. suffered a minor head injury and did not need to be hospitalized. On April 8, Mrs. N continued to take her son to the doctor.

On April 11, Mrs. N. and A.’s two aunts discovered that the baby was comatose, her limbs were swollen, so she was taken to Cu Chi Regional General Hospital for emergency treatment, but baby A died later.

Working with the police, Ms. N. said that the doctors informed that baby A died due to severe kidney failure, and the emergency was delayed.

As for the hospital emergency department, when receiving baby A., they found that there were many old and new wounds on the baby’s body, suspected of being abused, so they reported it to the Cu Chi District Police.

Regarding the above incident, the Ho Chi Minh City Police newspaper cited information from the People’s Committee of Tan Thong Hoi commune, Cu Chi district, saying that the cause of the incident is still being investigated and clarified by the police. Over the past time, the authorities have not received any complaints about unusual expressions from the house where the girl is staying with her family.

“The girl was taken to the hospital by her relatives. The doctor discovered that her body had many bruises, so she reported to the police to clarify,” said the leader of Tan Thong Hoi Commune People’s Committee.

Neighbors where A. lives said that the girl and her family moved here for a few years, the house is often closed and little communication with neighbors.

Some people living here said that they had never heard of any unusual signs and were surprised when the authorities came to work.

Sharing on Dan Tri, a relative of baby A. said that her mother lives with her two children (A. and her sister) and her biological sister at a house in Tien hamlet, Tan Thong Hoi commune. The family is difficult, the mother alone works to raise 2 children. Recently, A. showed signs of kidney disease and was taken to many clinics for treatment.

“Half a month now, the baby’s illness has become serious. Her mother loves her child so there is no violence,” this person said.

The police are still continuing to investigate the case.
